WUSC Installs AV Flex

Station serves students at University of South Carolina

The student-run radio station of the University of South Carolina is installing a new AudioVault system from Broadcast Electronics.

WUSC(FM) will use an AV Flex system. According to a writeup in the student newspaper, the system will allow the station to simplify its computer-based operations.

The station started as a carrier current AM operation in the 1940s, went FM in 1977 and started streaming in 2003. It added HD Radio in 2006, saying it was the first station in South Carolina to do so.

William Flourance is station manager of WUSC.
