WVOD(FM) Sold to Convergent

Convergent Broadcasting is beefing up its presence on the Outer Banks. The company is buying WVOD(FM) in Manteo, N.C., from Orbit Communications, subject to FCC approval. Price tag: $1 million. Convergent is also in the process of buying WNHW(FM) in Hatteras and WYND(FM) in Nags Head. Bruce Biette is president of Convergent. Orbit is headed by Jennifer Frost. Media Services Group represented Orbit and made the announcement.
