A Wyoming Public Radio engineer and PD recently rode horses up Copper Mountain to get to the satellite dish and transmitter site for KUWT(FM), Thermopolis and an HD2 signal after a snowstorm closed many of the roads.

KUWZ(FM), Rock Springs was also off the air, but they could just drive to that site; what’s the fun in that?

WPR Engineering Coordinator Shane Toven told me they chose the horseback option as all other ways of reaching the site, including Sno-Cats, were unavailable. CE Reid Fletcher is pictured.
