XM and AOL Online plan to partner with sports and entertainment presenter AEG. They will form what they call the first multi-platform digital entertainment company for live programming.
Called Network Live, the venture aims to deliver live programming through the Internet, satellite and other third-party media platforms like video on demand, wireless and HDTV.
They plan to brand the company as the place to find live, digital performances and experience them much as if someone was at a concert, the principals say.
Former Executive Producer of Live 8 Kevin Wall is the CEO of Network Live.
Network Live will focus on producing live music and comedy – many originating from AEG venues. The programming will be promoted to AOL’s Web audience of about 100 million and to XM’s 4 million subscribers.
