XM has begun a sales, marketing and programming campaign to thank existing customers and gain new ones. The elements of the so-called “one million subscriber campaign” include a sweepstakes with several prizes, such as a new Cadillac and Pontiac, and on-air contest, and a cross-country road trip. Two XM DJ’s are traveling the country over the next 14 days to gain exposure for the satcaster.
Current subscribers earn points for everyone the successfully encourage to sign up for service. The points are good for free months of XM service, hardware and gift cards.
