XM Cites ‘Best Q2 Ever,’ Now at 4.4 Million Subs

XM Satellite said it added about 640,000 net subscribers in the second quarter and now has 4.4 million.
The three-month period was 18% better than the first quarter of 2005.
President/CEO Hugh Panero said momentum behind its subscriber growth is “undeniable.” A year ago XM stood at 2.1 million subscribers.
As of the end of March, Sirius had 1.45 million subscribers. It announces its second quarter numbers in a few weeks.
