Twelve XM Satellite Radio products have won the Innovations 2005 Awards, including two “Best of Innovations” distinctions for the Delphi XM2go MyFi in the portable audio category, and XM NavTraffic.
The Consumer Electronics Association sponsors the awards, which are endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America.
The Innovations Awards, now in its 15th year, honor excellence in consumer technology design and engineering. The top Innovations 2005 Honorees from each category are named “Best of Innovations.”
An independent panel of engineers, designers and journalists select the honorees.
Unveiled in New York last month by XM and Delphi Corp., MyFi is a personal, portable XM2go satellite radio. MyFi features an integrated antenna, as well as two operating modes: a “live” listening mode and a time-shifting “memory” mode.
XM NavTraffic, powered by NAVTEQ, is a satellite traffic information service that enables a vehicle navigation system to display traffic information for a driver’s personal route. XM NavTraffic provides traffic data for 20 major metropolitan areas.
