XM Satellite Radio has introduced traffic/weather channels in 21 markets that are available nationwide as part of its regular subscription service. XM is partnering with Mobility Technologies Traffic Pulse and The Weather Channel. XM launched its Washington channel on February 28 and has begun offering 14 additional channels for the following metro areas: New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Chicago, Houston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa, Orlando, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and St. Louis.
Channels for the 6 remaining markets (Boston, Atlanta, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Seattle and San Diego) will be introduced later in 2004.
