XM is playing up its World Cup coverage.
“For soccer fans in the U.S., the only place to hear live radio broadcasts of the 2006 FIFA World Cup tournament in English and Spanish is XM Satellite Radio,” the company states in its latest release.
XM will start play-by-play coverage from Munich on Friday with broadcasts of the opening match, Germany vs. Costa Rica. The company is the English radio broadcaster of the World Cup in the United States “as well as the only radio service to offer U.S. fans live play-by-play coverage in both English and Spanish.” It plans 31 days of around-the-clock coverage.
