XM brought in more money during the recent third quarter, but lost more too, than it did in the quarter last year.
It has reported a net loss for the quarter of $131.9 million, compared to $118 million a year ago. The satcaster reported an EBITDA loss of $73.8 million compared to $62.9 million.
In revenue, the company reported $153 million, an increase of 134% over $65 million in the third quarter 2004.
XM ended the quarter with just over 5 million subscribers, having added 617,152. The company credits what it said was strong automotive and retail distribution performance for the growth. XM says it’s on track to reach 6 million by the end of 2005.
Subscriber acquisition costs in quarter were $53, a decrease from $57 a year ago.
