XM Radio Will Recreate NBC’s D-Day Coverage

On Wednesday, XM Radio will carry a recreation of radio coverage of the D-Day invasion of 1944, including archival reports from NBC’s radio news bulletins.

On Wednesday, XM Radio will carry a recreation of radio coverage of the D-Day invasion of 1944, including archival reports from NBC’s radio news bulletins.

The broadcast will air on the satellite company’s 1940s channel in real time beginning June 6 at 12:41 a.m., the time of the first radio report.

NBC’s bulletins are housed in the National Archives. The original NBC broadcast schedule is cataloged in the Library of Congress.

The programming will feature music of the era as well original reports from radio commentators including H.V. Kaltenborn, Merrill Mueller and others. The channel’s PD is Marlin Taylor.
