There is nothing in FCC rules that would prohibit a merger between Sirius and XM, the companies said in a filing this week.
Marketwatch has the details, noting that the companies’ assertion “is a controversial one, given the fact that FCC Chairman Kevin Martin has publicly stated that current rules wouldn’t permit a merger to proceed.”
