Jeffrey Schwartz

Yahoo! Sports Radio is beefing up its operations.

Sports radio veteran Jeffrey Schwartz is joining the team in a new position of executive vice president of corporate strategy. Amanda Deutchman is signing on as director of marketing and business development.

Schwartz will report to David Gow, CEO of Yahoo! Sports Radio and Gow Broadcasting, and will oversee business growth and partnerships, in addition to working with management to advance programming strategy, multiplatform marketing and promotional opportunities, and affiliate and talent relations.

Schwartz has worked in the programming and sales sides of radio for over 40 years. He previously worked in Chicago as the manager of sales and promotion at Merlin Media’s WLUP(FM), director of operations at CBS sportser WSCR(AM) and director of operations at ABC sportser WMVP(AM). In addition to founding two media-consulting firms, he joined Fox Sports Radio as a consultant in July 2010, and took a full-time role at the network in 2011. Schwartz was promoted to vice president of sports sales with Fox Sports Radio and Premiere Networks in 2013.

Deutchman will report directly to Schwartz and will be responsible for the development of new multiplatform business and partnership opportunities, as well as marketing and public relations. She began her radio career working in affiliate relations when she joined Premiere Networks in 2010, later joining Fox Sports Radio Network, working as marketing and communications manager.

Yahoo! Sports Radio reaches an estimated five million people each week on a 24-hour network of over 425 terrestrial stations, Sirius Satellite Radio and mobile platforms.
