‘Meet Me at the LVH’

The Hilton is no longer a Hilton

If you attend the NAB Show next month and someone tells you to meet at the LVH, don’t be confused. They mean that familiar big hotel next door to the LVCC. The one you used to call the Hilton.

Starting in January, the Las Vegas Hilton took on new branding as the LVH-Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, according to coverage of the story in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The hotel did not change owners (it is part of Colony Capital LLC) but it did lose its Hilton franchise.

In its marketing, the LVH now describes itself as “A Las Vegas Icon. Same Fame. New Name.”

The hotel’s Wikipedia listing has a fun summary of the site’s history. Did you know there used to be a speedway there? Or remember when it was called the International Hotel?
