In the course of “Internet travels” and links that friends send and post, I have managed to gather some links that I hope you might enjoy too. These links may be “off your beaten path,” but you might just learn something or pass them forward to other interested friends.
Decluttering Rules
Whether it’s clutter at home or clutter at your station, this might be of help in resolving that problem. Here are 12 golden rules for decluttering.
Uncluttering by Dumping That CD Collection
If you worked in radio back in the days when record companies were big on promotional CD, you might have a large (or a VERY large CD collection). To help with that clutter, you might consider “ripping” your CDs onto a hard drive (then copy that to a back-up and safely store it). Just remember that if you don’t want “degraded audio,” preserve that audio as an uncompressed PCM WAV. Audio Grabber is free (ad-supported) software that you might find interesting. It has worked for me (so far).
No More Passwords!
Tired of passwords and log-ins that you can never remember? Intel thinks you should be able to get away from using them in the future with thumbprints or even facial recognition. Here’s the story.
And Finally …
Aliens
Here’s an interesting story about aliens. On the outside edge of this story are some facts about including the prediction by one NASA scientist (Ellen Stofan) who believes there might be strong evidence of extra-terrestrial life beyond Earth discovered in the next 10 years.
