Andrew Corp. added the Decibel series of dual band antennas to its Base Station Antenna product line. The DBXGKC-6565B-VTM and DBXGKC-6565C-VTM use the performing antenna technologies from the company’s DBXLH line of dual band antennas by incorporating an internal cross band coupler, allowing a shared signal feed of both the GSM900 and GSM1800 bands. Both systems are capable of independent variable downtilt and are Teletilt-compatible.
The Decibel antennas also offer two connector ports, as opposed to standard dual band antennas, which have four input connectors: two for low-band and two for high-band applications.
Andrew Corp. says this will save money on feeders and jumpers and leasing costs for additional feeder cable, and allow less total wind load and a way to upgrade an existing GSM900 site with GSM1800 network hardware by replacing the antenna.
