The programmable LCD switches are targeted at systems and designs where size is an issue and user interface is required.

The switch has the electrical and performance characteristics of the original SmartSwitch. The company expects design engineers will specify the compact model for routers to be used in space-constrained applications like production vans or small studios.

Also, the company’s SmartSwitch line is now available in versions featuring lower energy consumption. The typical forward current is rated 15 mA and typical power dissipation is 130 mW. The updated line also has brighter LED illumination.

The SmartSwitch can be specified in single, bicolor and RGB versions. The last allows engineers to create any color illumination with one switch.
