Nutmeg Broadcasters Gather in Hartford

Connecticut broadcasters confab.

The Connecticut Broadcasters Association is holding its 53rd annual convention, Oct. 14 in Hartford, Conn., at the Hartford Convention Center.

CNN show host and veteran reporter Frank Sesno will give the keynote address at lunch. Among other things, Sesno will take a look at the 2008 Presidential race.

Competing sessions of interest to radio broadcasters include a “Radio & TV Sales Seminar;” a look at “The Future of Broadcasting;” examination of “Emergency Management in Connecticut and the New EAS;” the required “AM/FM IBOC Review;” the perennial “Washington Regulatory/Legislative/DTV Update;” an “FCC EEO Rules & Regulations Update;” and “Networking Session for Educational Stations.”

Panelists will include Radio World columnist Skip Pizzi, communications attorney Dick Zaragoza of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and many station managers and station personnel.

Sponsors of the convention include BMI, Nielsen, Arbitron and the Connecticut Radio Network.
