PREC 2019 Adds Saturday Sessions, Seeks Presentation Proposals

Annual conference is scheduled for April 4–6 in Las Vegas

The Association of Public Radio Engineers is seeking presenters for the 2019 Public Radio Engineering Conference.

PREC 2019 will be held April 4–6 at the Tuscany Suites in Las Vegas prior to the NAB Show. In a press release, the organizers noted the conference will add Saturday presentations, citing “the success of recent PRECs and the increase in high quality presentation proposals.”

APRE Presentations Committee Chair Jim Gray also reminded potential speakers that the committee seeks “presentations that can share knowledge and experience when starting a project, producing a show, IT systems, or anything broadcast related. Our goal is to mesh these with manufacturer solutions and educational papers to complement the learning process.”

This year’s suggested topics range from RF theory to audio production techniques and solutions; from automation to STLs; from console technology to budget planning; from compliance to virtualization; from facility upgrades to digital services and more.

In the announcement, Gray also emphasized that PREC “is attended by public radio engineers, operations staff, production personnel and broadcast management” and noted the “audience is highly technical and is looking for solutions to problems, educational enrichment and innovative ideas to bring back to their stations.”

The deadline to submit proposals is Dec. 3; email them to [email protected]. After the presentations committee assesses submissions, acceptance notices will be sent later that month.
