A Mult Box With More

Two-in and 16-out ‘broadcast’ splitter has features

Giving some polish to the typical Brand X installed passive “mult box,” ARX presents the BSX 16, an active rackmounted two-in and 16-out splitter aimed press and presentation rooms and events.

The BSX 16 has some useful features such as a bank of outputs that offer mic or line level signals. The inputs have 20 dB pads. Outputs are transformer isolated for shutting down a notorious problem of mult boxes: ground loop hums. Inputs and outputs are XLR. Inputs have gain and level controls along with 48 V phantom power. There is also a PA output on the rear panel for powered speakers and a controllable headphone output on the front.

ARX Managing Director Colin Park said the company took input broadcast users. He said it offers “an intuitive, ‘user-friendly’ layout and delivers the flawless performance today’s digital and analog broadcast and ENG audio productions demand.”
