AKG bided its time before jumping onto the USB bandwagon but it has made the leap.
The first AKG microphone to offer a USB output is a variant of a current offering, the Perception 120.
The Perception 120 USB is a large-diaphragm (2/3-inch) condenser mic with an integrated pop filter, bass filter (12 dB at 300 Hz) and a 20 dB pad. It ships with a tripod table stand, swivel mount and USB cable.
The integrated A-D converter is 24-bit.
AKG’s Product Marketing Manager for Recording and Broadcast Thomas Stubics said: “With the widespread USB standard and its ease of use, this new model allows users without any recording experience to make professional-quality recordings from the home.”
