APT Observes the Equinox

Adds new IP audio codec to its lineup

The broadcast codec business of APT is now part of the Audemat Group, as RW reported last week. For this NAB Show, the two will maintain separate booths.

APT will show its new Equinox codec. The Equinox, an IP audio codec, is the latest addition to the WorldCast line.

Aimed at the “affordable” broadcast IP STL market, the bidirectional Equinox also is compatible with ISDN service. It is compatible with other manufacturers’ codecs that use MPEG Layer III bonding. The Equinox will switch automatically to ISDN in the event of IP failure.

Kevin Campbell, senior VP of Global Hardware Sales for APT, said the WorldCast Equinox was designed for professional IP STL applications, “offering the feature set most commonly requested from broadcasters at the most economical price.”

Booth: N6717.
