Are All Sales Local?

Web site aims to help stations train their salespeople.

The folks at think the answer to the headline question is yes. Their new Web site, they say, is working with about a dozen state broadcaster associations to improve sales education for radio and TV ad sales personnel. features 150 sales training modules covering topics like auto ads and health care ads, copywriting and communications.

President Joe Reilly of the New York State Broadcasters Association provided a testimonial in the announcement, saying the site is a value-added service for TV and radio sales operations.

Most modules are five minutes long and feature faces such as Paul Weyland, John Tkac and Dan O’Day. founder Stephen Warley noted that beyond a simple lecture, the modules “incorporate worksheets, examples and quizzes to ensure sales professionals grasp the concepts being presented.”
