Audi of America plans to offer HD Radio tuners as a standard feature in many of its vehicles beginning with the 2011 model year.
Those will start arriving in dealerships in 2010.
Ibiquity Digital COO Jeff Jury said the action “further solidifies HD Radio technology as a key feature for the luxury market.”
Audi has been offering Sirius as standard equipment in its models. That will continue as HD Radio technology becomes available in Audi cars and SUVs, as well.
Automakers offering HD Radio as factory or dealer installed include BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes, Mini USA, Volvo Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Jaguar and Toyota.
