BW Brings Out New DSPX Processor

Low delay, FM clipping make processor a smooth operator

BW Broadcast has a new sibling in its DSPXmini line, the DSPXmini-ST.

BW Broadcast calls it a “low-delay” (4 ms) FM processor with “FM-style” clipping designed to ease on-air monitoring. A spokesman for BW Broadcast explained that the DSPXmini-ST is “a monitoring processor for studio use. It is quite specialized for one use and we wouldn’t recommend it to be used anywhere other than the studio.”

The 1RU DSPXmini-ST offers analog and digital I/O, a four-band gated AGC and a four-band program-dependent limiter. Digital specs are 32 – 96 kHz input, 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz on the output.

Other goodies include a security lockout, an internal clock for scheduling presets, remote control and “flash” upgrading. Price: $1,500.
