BW Transmitter Revamped

BW Broadcast TX1000 redesigned for 'toughest environments'

BW Broadcast, busy debuting new products for the IBC show crowd this month, has announced a revamping of the TX1000.

Rated at 1 kW, the more compact 2 RU TX1000 is aimed at minimal maintenance and basic tools field-replacement for many parts including its FCC/EU-compliant power supply. It is also the most powerful transmitter in the BW TX line.

Features include an onboard stereo exciter, compressor/limiter and BW Broadcast’s “Virtual VFO exciter” and “gold-clamp transistor technology.”

A front-panel LCD offer a control interface while a rear-panel RS-232 handles remote control duties.

Roger Howe, RF technical director for BW Broadcast said, “We didn’t want to just add another higher-power model to our existing value for money transmitter range. We wanted to make the TX1000 the lightest and smallest kilowatt FM transmitter available. Not only did we achieve that but we added a plug in power supply which continues BW Broadcast’s ‘One-minute maintenance philosophy.'”
