Computer peripherals maker CalDigit has a new portable RAID available, the VR mini 2.
The VR mini 2 is built on the platform of the original VR mini. The “2” offers 2 TB of RAID 0, RAID 1 or JBOD storage in dual hot-swappable hard drives and USB 3.0 and FireWire 800 interfaces.
The VR mini 2 can be powered via the FireWire interface or by an AC adapter. Its case is made of light, heat-dissipating aluminum. It is compatible with Mac and Windows systems.
An LCD front-panel screen allows for control along with a computer app. CalDigit offers an optional plastic travel case.
