Delta Meccanica will present a larger Motorized Coaxial Switch at IBC2013. The new unit boasts four 1/2-inch EIA male connectors.
Suitable for both radio and TV applications, the switch can be used in double-pole, double-throw (DPDT), or as a single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) configurations.
Most commonly, says the company, the system is utilized to connect the main transmitter to the antenna, and a standby transmitter to a dummy load.
A reversible electric motor controls the changeover with a switching over time that is less than three seconds. In the case of a power failure, manual operation is possible. Furthermore, isolation between the four inputs is not below 55 dB for the entire broadcast range.
