Analyzer offers flexible, accurate FM evaluation

DEVA Broadcast will highlight the DEVA Radio Explorer II FM radio analyzer at IBC2013. The Radio Explorer is a full-featured device designed to cater to all market requirements.

This easy-to-use mobile tool evaluates FM broadcast band congestion and stores important radio broadcast parameters in log files. Its built-in FTP system allows downloading and managing of the files through the DEVA Device Manager software. The DSP-based FM radio front-end tuner utilizes the latest technologies in the DSP processing of the FM signal, according to the company.

Radio Explorer II, which is dual DSP-based, compact and affordable, is a suitable solution for field surveys and onsite monitoring of a station’s complete signal.

The tool analyzes signal strength and quality after repairs or setup of new equipment. It measures RF level, MPX deviation, left and right audio levels, RF field strength, RDS and pilot injection levels. Measurements are visualized on easy-to-read OLED Graphical display.

Supporting both RDS/RBDS standards and measurement units, the Radio Explorer II is described as appropriate for broadcast engineers worldwide.
