Radio automation system developer ENCO Systems has two new goodies for its NAB Show booth: iDAD, an iPod (and iPad) app, and interchange, a “framework.”
The new, free app turns an iPhone into a handheld digital recorder. It also does basic editing duties and interfaces via the iPhone’s phone system with ENCO DAD and Presenter automation systems. Additionally, iDAD can act as a remote control for DAD or Presenter.
ENCO Systems President Eugene Novacek said: “For remotes, news updates, sports updates or any number of on-location situations, iDAD, combined with our DAD or Presenter, will make it easier for stations to be more local and responsive.”
Promising to be the basis for a number of products, interchange, is described as “the framework for a number of upcoming ‘remote-oriented’ features and products that are under development.” It will also work with the PADapult PAD system and the DAD automation system.
