Equipment maker Fostex’s AR-4i likes to baby iPhones by allowing them to rest snugly while at work.
The cradle-like device allows for an upgrade to the built-in mono microphone by offering a pair of manipulable cardioid condenser mics that can be used to create a stereo field. A threaded mount for a tripod (or similar handles) and cold shoe are included.
The battery-powered AR-4i also offers a total of three inputs, an LED level meter, headphone output and headphone volume control. Removable plug-in microphones and windscreens are included.
