DAB radio solutions developer Frontier Silicon is introducing a new touchscreen-based technology for DAB receivers.

With the Frontier "Advanced DAB" system, Touch Radio users would have access to a rich-media EPG, slideshows of station IDs and imagery, the ability to tag and store information about songs and advertised products/services, and receive real-time traffic and transport updates.

"Touchscreen radio is the next step in digital radio platforms and visual experience. The technology and enhanced user functionality is just as big a leap as that from analog to digital radio, if not bigger, and allows us to truly map out the future of DAB radio," stated Anthony Sethill, chief executive of Frontier Silicon.
