London-based digital radio and connected audio technology supplier Frontier Silicon has rolled out Tuscany, its new module for Bluetooth audio devices.

Tuscany is intended for audio devices with a combination of high-performance Bluetooth, dual Band DAB/DAB+, FM with RDS and Apple Lightning/Android docking.

According to the company, Tuscany works with products, including wireless speakers, docks and sound bars because of its customizable features. The module includes Bluetooth A2DP streaming with optional AAC support, customizable iOS and Android apps for remote control, on-board Bluetooth antenna, USB interface for smart device docking and field software updates, support for NFC Bluetooth pairing, DAB/DAB+/FM radio, firmware pre-loaded with a variety of user interfaces.

Tuscany can function in standalone devices or through another processor, using Frontier’s communications interface, said the company. The module is supplied with an application design package and supported by Frontier’s sales and support team.

Tuscany will be introduced at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2013 Spring Edition. First models will be produced this year.
