The module includes Bluetooth A2DP streaming with optional AAC support, customizable iOS and Android apps for remote control, on-board Bluetooth antenna, USB interface for smart device docking and field software updates, support for NFC Bluetooth pairing, DAB/DAB+/FM radio, firmware pre-loaded with a variety of user interfaces.

Tuscany can function in standalone devices or through another processor, using Frontier’s communications interface, said the company. The module is supplied with an application design package and supported by Frontier’s sales and support team.

Tuscany will be introduced at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2013 Spring Edition. First models will be produced this year.
