Global Security Systems is pitching its alert system to federal homeland security, defense and justice officials this week.
It’s demo’ing its Alert FM technology at the Technologies for Critical Incident Preparedness Conference and Exposition. The event in Chicago is sponsored by DHS, DoD and DOJ. GSSNet Alert FM is installed so far in about 85 FM stations in seven states and the company hopes to expand use of its system.
The products it is showing — including a wall unit, USB unit, home unit and cell phone — meet the common alerting protocol.
The GSS presentation was part of a session at the conference on new technologies that create and disseminate interoperable alerts and warnings by local, tribal, state and federal entities.
GSS said its attendance grew out of a request from the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate seeking information on products/ devices in the emergency alert system sector.
