HD Radio Ads Stay in Front of Consumers

New ad flight focuses on HD Radio 'evolution'

Coming off the heels of its holiday campaign, the HD Digital Radio Alliance plans to begin another on Dec. 29. Broadcasters say they’re maintaining an advertising presence and staying in front of customers.

The new flight of ads focuses on “evolution” and how HD Radio came to be. The ads highlight iTunes Tagging, low price-points, starting at $79, and multicast channels.

The alliance broadcasters recommend using the weak economy as a chance to aggressively market a business, saying history and studies show that advertisers who continue marketing in downturn environments steal share from their competitors. Current members include major radio groups and independent station owners: Beasley Broadcast Group, Bonneville International, Buckley Radio, CBS Radio, Citadel Broadcasting/ABC Radio, Clear Channel Radio, Emmis Communications, Entercom, Greater Media and WBEB(FM), Philadelphia.

The campaign kicks off Dec. 29 and runs through March 29.
