The Jackaroo, from Australia-based SM Pro Audio, promises to makes itself very handy at the work bench.
Sporting a variety of connector types, the Jackaroo is a signal pass-through/converter, signal generator and cable tester, all packed into a 2 RU rackmount box.
The list of connectors the Jackaroo can handle includes XLR (M and F), 1/4-inch, 1/8-inch, RCA, MIDI (five-pin DIN), BNC, RJ-11 and RJ-45.
Any input can be routed to any output making the unit something of a combiner/splitter/gender-bender.
The signal generator provides 100 Hz, 1 kHz and 10 kHz tones. The Jackaroo also includes a ground lift and monitor speaker. Jackaroos can be linked via an RJ-45.
