Junger, Flux:: Release Level Magic Plug-In

Software tool will support all major DAW platforms for real-time and offline processing

Audio processing equipment manufacturer Jünger Audio and software developer Flux:: have launched Jünger’s Level Magic in a software format.

The Level Magic loudness measurement, correction and management algorithm is designed to ensure compliance with all current worldwide loudness standards, says Jünger. Based on the underlying ITU-R BS.1770 (-1/2/3) principle, it provides compatibility with EBU R128, ATSC A/85, ARIB TR-B32, FREE TV OP-59 and Portaria 354.

According to the firm, the system uses a proprietary multiloop approach comprising three essential elements in parallel to measure, and if necessary correct, out of specification audio. An AGC section controls slower changing levels over time while a fast acting transient processor catches inaudible high frequency overshoots that may otherwise cause detrimental effects in downstream processing or coding.

Furthermore, it says, a brickwall filter provides effective true peak limiting using a 2ms lookahead to capture any intersample peaks. The resulting gain-changing signal is a combination of all three elements.

The system supports all major DAW platforms (AU/VST/AAX/AS) for both real-time and offline (AudioSuite) processing in 32- and 64-bit under both Windows and Mac OS X as well as mono, stereo and multichannel 5.1 audio formats.

Jünger Audio Managing Director Peter Pörs said, “As the industry continues to demand and adopt software based solutions, we are proud to now be able to offer all the proven and tested benefits of Level Magic to those working in the digital audio workstation environment.”
