Lawo Introduces Rɘlay Virtual Radio Mixer

For radio on the go, Lawo is introducing its Rɘlay Virtual Radio Mixer at the 2016 NAB Show.

For radio on the go, Lawo is introducing its Rɘlay Virtual Radio Mixer at the 2016 NAB Show. The portable laptop-based radio software-based mixer is able to run a radio station studio’s worth of equipment on a laptop, according to Michael Dosch, Lawo’s director of virtual radio products.

The soft console and its channels can handle voice processing, codecs, phone interfacing and declipping. Tools are controlled through the unit’s touchscreen GUI.

Rɘlay Virtual Radio Mixer bundles will include VRX4 and VRX8 software, a Lawo On-Air 4 audio hardware interface equipped with mic, line, AES3 and Ravenna/AES67 I/O, and a Rɘlay backpack.

Lawo Radio Marketing specialist Clark Novak said, “Rɘlay is perfect for grab-and-go remote kits, field journalists, fast setup of on-location studios, webcasting, a replacement for aging studio hardware, or as a permanent personal studio at home.”

Lawo will release the Rɘlay Virtual Radio Mixer in July.
