Lawo Launches Second-Gen Console

Digital console improves workflow, offers Ravenna IP audio

Digital console maker Lawo has built a second generation of its mc256 console. The console is aimed at higher-end production duties.

According to Lawo the latest mc256 improves its workflow and functionality at the channel level and bus level.

Touchscreen operation has been improved along with overall ergonomics. Some component parts such as lighting on channel strips and illuminated knobs have been upgraded as well.

A “reveal” screen allows for identification of the components of a multichannel mix on an individual fader.

The mc256 has native Ravenna IP audio network technology for interfacing with hundreds of channels via a Cat-5 cable. It also has Lawo’s Ambit stereo-to-surround sound processor. The mc256 offers sizes from 16 to 80 faders.
