Media Monitors Says Groups Sign Up for Audience Reaction Tool

Emmis, Citadel and Clear Channel like new ability to see impact on PPM panels.

Media Monitors said it has inked expanded agreements with Citadel Broadcasting, Emmis Communications and its own parent, Clear Channel Communications.

Citadel signed up for the Audience Reaction service at WABC(AM) and WPLJ(FM) in New York, KABC(AM)/KLOS(FM) in Los Angeles and WLS(AM/FM) in Chicago.

Emmis will be analyzing programming data in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. And “PDs in the top Clear Channel markets will be able to tap into the strategic market information Audience Reaction provides,” the supplier stated. Media Monitors is part of RCS, which is owned by Clear Channel.

Audience Reaction lets clients visually monitor the effect of their programming; they can chart behavior of listeners in the Arbitron PPM panel listening to a station. A user thus can notice changes in ratings immediately.

“The combination of instant listener reaction captured via PPM technology with the accurate Media Monitors’ airplay information gives graphical representation of programming decisions,” it stated.

“With Audience Reaction, subscribers can retrieve what was played on the air in the traditional log format, instantly spot peaks and dips in ratings and see migration of the panelists on a minute-by-minute basis.”
