Microphone Blade Is Latest Member of WheatNet-IP Line

Wheatstone also will show touchscreen controllers from network systems, and a new programmable intercom system for radio facilities

Wheatstone will introduce the ip88m Microphone Blade for the Audio-Over- IP network, formerly called E-Square.

The ip88m is a 1RU unit with eight microphone preamps, eight analog outputs and the WheatNet-IP 1GB Ethernet port. It’s similar to other WheatNet-IP blades, the company says, with full front-panel metering. Mic sources then become available anywhere on the network, and the eight output channels can access any system sources, typically used to feed studio speakers and headphones.

The company also will exhibit a range of user-programmable touchscreen controllers for both the WheatNet-IP and Bridge network systems.

Controllers for talent positions such as anchors, producers, co-hosts, etc. can be programmed for mic function control (on/off/cough), talkback, headphone source select and volume control, talkback, firing of salvos. They will be available in a range of sizes for desktop, flush and rack mounting.

Also on display: A new programmable intercom for radio broadcast facilities, with 16 alphanumeric displays for each talk/ listen switch.
