Musicam USA is announcing a series of audio codecs for connection over IP, ISDN and digital leased networks.

The Suprima offers connectivity and compatibility with IP/LAN interface, ISDN S/T & U Interface Terminal Adapters and X.21 interface. Coding algorithms include Advanced Audio Coding (MPEG2 AAC, MPEG4 AAC LD), MPEG Layer 2, 3 and low-delay apt-X standard and enhanced mode.

Musicam says its Road Warrior offers the features of the Suprima in a lightweight package with a five-channel microphone input/mixer.

The Suprimax is a multi-channel IP codec chassis that holds up to 14 Suprima codec modules in a 3 RU rack. It is suitable for large broadcast networks in high-density applications, and permits the delivery of 14 stereo programs from a centralized location. The coding algorithm is user-selectable for each module from G.711 to uncompressed linear coding. Suprimax supports unicast and multicast IP operations.
