2wcom will introduce the AIC multiformat AIC over IP encoder/decoder at the 2014 NAB Show.
A 19-inch unit that combines IP encoder and decoder functions in one chassis, the AIC supports various audio formats and provides network streaming connections (DDP, RTP, SIP/SDP). The company says that the AIC features redundancy management with automatic switching to backup sources, sophisticated monitoring and alarms, and GPS-based latency control for use in SFN FM networks.
Also on show will be the FlexNsert/FlexXtract DAB+ distribution via satellite system (shown). The 2wcom FlexNsert DAB+ distribution inserter receives a DAB ETI data stream (EN 300799), converts the stream into a standard MPEG2-TS-signal and outputs it via ASI or Ethernet transport stream interfaces. The FlexXtract+ DAB+ distribution extractor demodulates a data stream (2 Mbps) from a DVB-S or DVB-S2 signal and converts the data into a standard ETI-signal or EDI-signal to feed DAB or DAB+ transmitters.
2wcom will also unveil the FMC01FM/MPX compact codec for FM MPX contribution and distribution via IP or E1. The FMC01 is able to combine encoder and decoder functions in the same unit, offering infrastructure savings and the Single Frequency Network System Solution for μs-accurate synchronization for implementing FM SFN networks with existing analog transmission infrastructure.
