Germany’s Microtech Gefell is bringing to Las Vegas one of those rare gems, a new broadcast microphone.
The MD 300 (shown) is a top-address dynamic with a cardioid pattern. Its frequency response has been “optimized for intelligibility” with a 2 dB bump at 2 kHz–8 kHz. Internally it has an elastic capsule suspension to handle noise.
Microtech Gefell is also offering a “Broadcast Kit” that features its M 930 cardioid condenser microphone with mount and a rather hefty pop filter in an interesting presentation. The “sponge” is acoustically inert and washable.
