It’s always a treat to see a new processor from Omnia Audio. For the upcoming NAB Show the company is bringing the brand spanking-new Omnia Volt.
The Volt is a single RU box that the company says shares “technological lineage with top-of-the-line Omnia products like the Omnia.11.”
The Volt features a clipper designed by Omnia founder Frank Foti and dynamics from processing algorithm guru Cornelius Gould. There is six separate AGC sections (one wide-band, five multiband); five time-aligned limiter sections; deep bass, warmth and stereo enhancers.
Omnia says that its QuickTweak function will take much of the mystery of mastering a processor away and provide simpler adjustments and settings that are also pleasing. In addition, the Volt is multifaceted, able to handle AM. FM and HD Radio/DRM duties.
Foti said, “We’ve packed our very best processing chops into Volt for sound so incredible, so exciting, you won’t believe it’s emanating from 1RU. You really do have to hear it to believe it.”
