Pro audio equipment maker Nady Systems has launched a handful of USB-based interconnect tools that may find applications in broadcast circles.
Top of the list is the SMPS-USB, a 48V phantom power supply with a USB port for directly inputting to a computer. It also has an XLR output for feeding a mixer. A stereo phantom power supply, without USB port, the SMPS-2X is also available.
On the interconnects front, the UIC-80 series is a group of USB interface cables. Each “cable” features two inputs and two outputs along with the USB cable interface. XLR, 1/4-inch and RCA connector arrays are available. A line lump 16-bit/48 kHz converter handles conversion. Total cable length is approximately 9.5 feet.
