Having trouble finding the right gift for the tower climber in your life? The National Association of Tower Erectors has your back, offering a number of options to place under the tree this Christmas.
Our eye was caught in particular by this limited edition lithograph print of Joanne Shellan’s “Almost Home” acrylic painting. It depicts a tower climber at the end of a day of work. NATE says each print is signed and numbered by the Shellan. It’s from the Tower Family Foundation and costs $50; the proceeds are donated to support tower climbers and their families in the aftermath of an accident or fatality situation. The original painting was purchased at live auction for $10,000. According to NATE, the concept was conceived when a climber snapped a still photo of his partner at the end of a long day.
The association also is promoting NATE sportswear (short- and long-sleeve T-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts and a heavy duty 1/4 zip hooded sweatshirt) and “The NATE Coffee Table Book,” which features photography of many of the views tower engineers encounter in their daily work, found on the association’s safety education page.
