New Satellite Receiver From viaRadio

DSR family is shared with German partner 2wcom

Florida-based viaRadio is making available a new family of DVB satellite receivers designed for the radio market, the DSR series.

It is manufactured by Germany’s 2wcom and sold in the United States by ViaRadio; it is available in Europe through the manufacturer.

The receiver decodes DVB-S and DVB-S2, handling MPEG 1, MPEG 2 and MPEG 4, HE-AAC v1, HE-AAC v2, HE-AAC LC and Dolby AC3. It offers two sets of AES/EBU and balanced stereo audio outputs; it can decode both channels at once in digital or analog with a short, stable and programmable delay. Up to 8 GB of onboard flash memory is available for program store & forward. Features include conditional access decryption and audio input & output via IP.

An Ethernet port and serial ports are available for control functions. The DSR family is also RDS- and PAD-compatible. Warning messages can be delivered via SNMP, e-mail or serial port.

The higher-end DSR02 model also offers Gigabit Ethernet for handling IP audio.
