New Vorsis Box Debuts

Dual mic preamplifier includes processor functions

The latest from Wheatstone’s Vorsis division is the M2, a dual mic preamp with a number of built-in processer sections. The mic preamps are 48V and conversion is at 24-bit/96 kHz.

The processor clutch includes a four-band EQ (with parametric mids), three-band compressor, de-esser, downward expander, high-pass filter, low-pass filter, peak limiter, DSP voice processing algorithms and phase scrambler for correcting asymmetrical voice waveforms. FFT and oscilloscope measurements can be displayed pre or post processing.

The M2’s dual preamps can be operated in an M-S configuration. Operation of the M2 is via network and a GUI. A “Talent Control Interface” allows for remote recall of presets only. Up to 254 M2s can be networked.

The M2 is designed for multiple applications.
