SiriusXM Gives Advertisers a New Voice — Powered by AI

SXM's creative agency is partnering with developer Narrativ for the replicas

SiriusXM Media is teaming up with NarrativFrom the Radio World “Who’s Buying What” page: SiriusXM Media announced it is teaming up with software developer Narrativ to deliver AI-generated voice replicas to advertisers.

A release said that the partnership will allow media brands to use AI voice replicas that allow for scalable options within audio “while still getting the benefits of having a human in the loop.”

SiriusXM Media is developing a self-service creative tool, AdMaker, which it said will soon allow advertisers to develop ads that combine Studio Resonate — SiriusXM’s creative agency — with Narrativ’s AI voice technology.

The technology is currently in beta testing, a spokesperson said.

Advertisers will be able to choose an AI voice replica from a roster of voice actors who opt in to Narrativ. Studio Resonate’s creative team will oversee the ad’s production. Each ad must be approved by both the voice actor and the advertiser before it goes live.

SiriusXM emphasized that voice actors who opt in to Narrativ will have the opportunity to earn additional income through the licensing of their voice replicas, “while maintaining full ownership and control over voice usage, including the ability to approve or reject every ad using their voice replica.”

Narrativ said it signed a deal with SAG-AFTRA last year to protect and monetize union talent voice replicas.

SiriusXM said the partnership marks the latest step in its investment in audio ad technology.
